Indie Game Trailer Creation
I don’t just edit the clips you send me. I figure out what the trailer needs to communicate, help find the strongest way to show it, capture footage when needed, and build the trailer around what makes your game worth playing.
You work directly with me from the first conversation through final delivery. The exact process depends on your game, your goals, and what the trailer actually needs.
Selected Trailer Project

For Into the Crypt’s launch trailer, Megaglope Studios provided an initial collection of gameplay footage along with music composed specifically for the game. As the edit took shape, I worked with the developer to identify additional shots that would help communicate specific mechanics and moments more clearly.
My role was to shape those materials into a clear introduction to the game and keep the focus on its strongest gameplay moments. I planned the structure, edited and paced the footage around the score, and added camera treatments, title cards, sound effects, and visual effects where they supported the presentation.
The trailer came together through close communication with Megaglope Studios, combining their footage and original music with additional shots and edit direction developed throughout production.
More Than Video Editing
I look at what makes your game interesting, what players need to understand, which moments deserve attention, and what footage is missing before I decide how the edit should work.
Depending on the project, I can help with the process from trailer strategy and shot planning through gameplay capture, editing, motion graphics, sound, and final delivery. The exact process depends on your game and what the trailer needs.
Direct Communication
There is no account manager, support queue, or middleman. I am the person reviewing the project, planning the trailer, editing the footage, and responding to your feedback. If gameplay capture is included in the agreed scope, I handle that directly as well.
Why My Approach Is Different
Every project starts with understanding what the game actually needs to communicate and which moments give players the best reason to care.
I review the available gameplay, project information, genre, player fantasy, strongest mechanics, tone, audience, and existing store or marketing materials before deciding what the trailer should emphasize.
My playtesting experience helps me notice clarity, pacing, player expectations, and the moments most likely to create excitement or confusion. A separate playtest can provide even deeper insight when it is included in the project scope.
The trailer should support the game’s screenshots, descriptions, capsule direction, branding, and overall public promise instead of feeling like a disconnected marketing piece.
When Playtesting Is Included
My experience in qualitative playtesting informs how I approach every trailer, but a full playtest is a separate service unless it is specifically included in the quote. When trailer creation and playtesting are combined, I can use that deeper hands-on understanding to help identify the game’s strongest hooks, possible points of confusion, and the moments the trailer should prioritize.
Straightforward Recommendations
If I think your existing footage is enough, I’ll tell you. If I think a shorter trailer would work better, I’ll recommend it. If I think the game would benefit from more development before spending money on a trailer, I’ll tell you that too.
My goal is to recommend the approach I believe presents your game best, not increase the scope just because I can.
What Trailer Creation Can Include
Not every project needs every service below. I recommend a scope after looking at the game, the available assets, and what you are trying to accomplish.
Opening hook, information hierarchy, feature priorities, pacing, clip order, text beats, target audience, and the overall direction of the trailer.
I can work with footage you already have, capture gameplay directly when appropriate, or identify and request additional shots the trailer needs.
Clip selection, pacing, camera treatments, transitions, title cards, text, motion graphics, compositing, and the final visual flow when those elements are part of the agreed scope.
Game audio, SFX, music synchronization, balancing, and mix polish. The trailer can use licensed Motion Array music, developer-provided music, no music, or a separately quoted custom-composed option.
Watermarked review copies and two agreed revision rounds are included unless the written quote states otherwise, giving you a clear chance to review the direction before final delivery.
Clean, full-resolution trailer files are delivered after final approval and payment of the remaining balance. Formats and deliverables are confirmed in the written project scope.
Length and Format
Standard trailer delivery is formatted in 16:9 for platforms such as Steam, YouTube, and similar uses. Vertical cuts are not currently included unless they are separately discussed and quoted.
Longer does not automatically mean better. After reviewing the game and the purpose of the trailer, I can recommend a target length that gives the important ideas enough room without overstaying its welcome.
Trailer Pricing
Final pricing depends on runtime, gameplay capture, available footage, motion graphics, compositing, sound work, deliverables, revision needs, deadline, and overall production complexity.
Every project is quoted individually. You approve the complete scope and price before the project is booked.
How It Works
You do not need to arrive with a finished production plan. That is part of what I can help figure out.
Send me your Steam page, website, footage, build information, or whatever currently exists, along with what you are trying to accomplish.
I look at what the game needs to communicate, what assets already exist, which hooks stand out, and what may still need to be captured.
I recommend an approach, likely runtime, capture needs, deliverables, and price before anything is booked.
I handle the agreed production work and stay in direct communication with you throughout the project.
You review the trailer, we complete the agreed revisions, and the clean master is delivered after final approval and payment.
Payment and Approval
Your project is booked once the initial 50% non-refundable payment is received. Production begins according to the agreed schedule.
You receive a watermarked review version and complete the agreed revision process before the remaining balance is due.
The remaining 50% is due after final approval and before delivery of the clean master files included in the project scope.
Third-party expenses and changes that would expand the agreed scope are discussed and approved before additional costs are incurred.
Preparing Your Store Page?
The strongest time to plan a trailer can be before the Steam page is finished. That gives the trailer, screenshots, descriptions, capsule direction, and gameplay presentation a chance to support the same message instead of being created separately.
My Steam page services can be hired separately or combined with trailer creation. I can help evaluate what the page should emphasize, which moments deserve screenshots, how the short description supports the trailer, and whether the complete presentation sets the right expectations for players.
A Good Fit For
This service is a strong fit when you want direct communication, personal attention, and someone who will take the time to understand what the game needs to communicate instead of simply assembling the first clips provided.
Ready To Talk About Your Game?
Send me the game and what you are trying to accomplish. I’ll review what currently exists and follow up with the questions I need before recommending a scope and price.
