Bug and QA Notes
I document crashes, broken interactions, visual bugs, UI issues, progression blockers, audio problems, performance concerns, and anything else that could damage player trust.
Playtesting / QA Services
I help indie developers find bugs, friction points, confusing moments, weak first impressions, and player experience issues before a demo, festival, early access release, or launch window.
Every report is personally handled by me, Derek Larson, sole owner of D Rock Games LLC. I play the build, take notes, document issues, and write the final feedback myself.
What You Get
I document crashes, broken interactions, visual bugs, UI issues, progression blockers, audio problems, performance concerns, and anything else that could damage player trust.
I focus on what the player understands, misses, questions, enjoys, or gets frustrated by. This includes goals, onboarding, pacing, controls, readability, feedback, and game feel.
I look at whether your build feels ready for Steam, wishlists, creators, festivals, and players who may only give the game a few minutes before deciding if they care.
I do not just dump notes on you. I summarize what I think matters most, what I would fix first, and what may have the biggest impact on the player experience.
How It Works
The goal is to keep the process easy for you while still giving you a report that feels thoughtful, specific, and worth acting on.
Send your Steam page, itch page, key, zip build, or private access instructions. You can also mention what kind of feedback matters most to you.
I go in with fresh eyes, take notes during the session, watch for confusion, and document bugs or friction points as they happen.
You get a written report with QA notes, player experience feedback, first impression thoughts, and prioritized recommendations.
Best Fit
I am a strong fit for developers who want direct, human feedback without sending their build into a faceless testing pipeline.
Report Focus
Does the opening communicate the hook, tone, controls, and goal clearly enough?
Where did I slow down, get confused, miss information, or fight the interface?
Do interactions, combat, movement, UI, sound, and feedback feel responsive?
What technical issues, visual problems, or broken moments hurt the experience?
Does the build maintain interest, or are there sections that drag or feel unclear?
What would I fix first if the goal was to improve player retention and trust?
